Tata Play Revives Iconic 2000s TV Shows with New ‘Superhit Serials’ Service

Tata Play has introduced a nostalgic new service, ‘Tata Play Superhit Serials,’ designed to delight audiences with beloved TV shows from the 2000s. This Value-Added Service will relaunch several iconic Star Plus serials, rekindling memories of classic shows that have remained cherished by viewers. The initiative comes in response to the significant demand for these timeless programs, which have long been absent from television screens.

Tata Play Superhit Serials’ will feature a lineup of legendary serials that shaped Indian television in the early 2000s. Subscribers can enjoy reruns of popular shows such as ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay,’ ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,’ and ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.’ The service will also include other notable series like ‘Kaahin Kissii Roz,’ ‘Hatim,’ ‘Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan,’ and the romance drama ‘Navya.’ These serials, known for their captivating characters and intricate family dramas, will be available ad-free for Tata Play subscribers at just INR 2 per day.

Pallavi Puri, Chief Commercial and Content Officer at Tata Play, emphasized the strong viewer demand for these classic shows. “Our research highlighted a significant nostalgia-driven interest in these iconic shows. Recognizing the continued resonance of series like ‘Kasautii’ and ‘Kahaani’ with our audience, we saw the need to bring these groundbreaking programs back for today’s viewers,” Puri stated. The collaboration with Star Plus aims to revitalize these classic shows and make them accessible to a new generation of viewers.

Gurjeev Singh Kapoor, Head of Distribution and International at Disney Star, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “We are excited to work with Tata Play to bring back some of Star Plus’ most beloved serials that have left a lasting impact on Indian television,” Kapoor said. “This initiative is about more than just reviving classics; it’s about reigniting the excitement and connection that these timeless stories and characters continue to evoke. Viewers across generations can once again enjoy these shows through a seamless, ad-free viewing experience.”

The reruns will showcase a star-studded cast, featuring actors like Sakshi Tanwar, Shweta Tiwari, Ronit Roy, Urvashi Dholakia, Cezanne Khan, Ali Asgar, Rupali Ganguli, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Juhi Parmar, Sudha Chandran, Hiten Tejwani, Kiku Sharda, Anita Hassanandani, Eijaz Khan, and Iqbal Khan. Iconic characters such as Prerna, Parvati, Komolika, Mr. Bajaj, and Anurag Basu will once again grace the screens of Indian homes.

The launch of ‘Tata Play Superhit Serials’ further expands Tata Play’s extensive portfolio of over 45 entertainment and infotainment Platform Services, which cater to diverse age groups and offer content across a range of genres including Entertainment, Kids, Learning, Regional, and Devotion.
