Burma Burma Raises $2M to Expand Operations

Burma Burma, a prominent Burmese vegan restaurant chain, has successfully raised an additional $2 million in equity investment from various family offices, including Negen Capital. This new funding follows a previous seed round of $2 million in November 2022, also spearheaded by Negen Capital.

Founded by Ankit Gupta and Chirag Chhajer, Burma Burma Restaurant and Tea Room is dedicated to making Burmese cuisine accessible to a wider audience. The company offers a unique and wholesome dining experience, positioning itself as a leading name in the industry. Based in Mumbai, Burma Burma has rapidly expanded its presence to major metropolitan areas, including Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, continuously broadening its reach across India.

Currently, Burma Burma operates 13 restaurants and delivery kitchens in strategic locations such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Over the past year, the company has experienced significant growth, doubling its footprint and increasing its annual recurring revenue (ARR) from Rs 46 crore in FY23 to over Rs 100 crore in FY24.

The company reported an EBITDA of over 13% in July and aims to achieve a monthly EBITDA of over 15% for FY25. This latest round of funding is intended to support further expansion and enhance the dining experience for its patrons.
